Students need to reach Level B1 (12 sub-levels) of a second language, according to the Common European Framework, to graduate.
Our program
The applicant to the Music Making and Production program is creative, passionate about music and sound innovation. Seeks to develop skills in
professional composition, recording and production, applying his talent in artistic and commercial projects.
He is proactive, with an interest in music trends and production technology, able to work in a team and with the discipline to transform his passion into professional opportunities and impactful projects in the music industry.
Graduates of the Music Production and Production program at Institución Universitaria Salazar y Herrera will be versatile professionals with artistic, technical and creative abilities to conceive, produce and interpret musical content in different formats - recordings, audiovisual productions, live shows or multimedia projects.
They will have training in music creation, sound production, instrumental interpretation and sound design for media such as film, video games or multimedia, applying current industry standards. They will be prepared to integrate creativity, technique and innovation, with aesthetic sensitivity and understanding of the cultural context, which will allow them to produce original music, manage musical projects, collaborate in creative teams or lead their own initiatives.
Graduates of Music Production and Production will be able to work in multiple areas of the musical and creative field: recording studios, production companies, audiovisual media, entertainment companies, advertising agencies, film, video games, theater or live events.
They will be able to assume roles as music producers, composers, sound designers, recording engineers, mixers, audio technicians, musician-performers, music content creators, sound project coordinators or music production managers. You will also be able to undertake independent projects: produce your own music, run your own label, offer sound production services, create bands or work as a freelance in the field of music and entertainment.

- Music Production: Music Production Processes, Live Sound Production, Music Production by Genres, Critical Listening, Electronic Music Production, Digital Audio Programming, Music Production Seminar.

- ***Once the student has passed the Structuring Stratum, he/she can choose between three lines of specialization: Music Production, Music Creation and Music Interpretation. Once the decision has been made, the student must pass the exam corresponding to the line of the Deepening Stratum. If the student does not pass the exam of any line, and has passed all the contents of the Structuring Stratum, he/she can take the general contents of the Deepening Stratum, while retaking the exam of the line of deepening that best suits his/her musical vocation, work projection, interest and innate abilities.
