From Monday, November 24 through Friday, November 28, the Institución Universitaria Salazar y Herrera will host the exhibition Ecos del Alma: Relatos de Amor y Miseria, an artistic exhibit based on the work of the same name by Colombian writer Edison Patiño Mazo. The exhibition will be part of an itinerant tour that will travel through Medellin and other areas of the department in 2026, thanks to the joint work of the Antioquia Higher Education Institutions Libraries Board and the management of the Institutional Library, led by Jenny Quintero.

The work is characterized by the integration of 21 stories of dark fantasy, romanticism and mythology, connected to each other within the same narrative universe. Each story has an original illustration created by the author himself, as well as musical pieces and audiovisual content produced by artificial intelligence, which makes the book a transmedia project.

An exhibition that combines the earthly and the mythical

The exhibition presents a visual journey through this literary universe, where the gods, far from perfection, face overflowing passions, irreparable mistakes and fractured destinies. The artistic proposal incorporates illustrations printed on pine wood, a material chosen as a metaphor for the duality between the ethereal and the earthly. The grain and textures of the wood dialogue with the stories of the book, evoking the rawness of love, the fragility of power and the traces of human and divine misery.

The montage allows the public to explore figures of fallen gods, mythical beings and fantastic landscapes in an experience that mixes analog and digital. Each piece has a QR code that gives access to complementary audiovisual content.
